About the smallcase

  • According to the statistics by the Futures Industry Association (FIA), a derivatives trade association, the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE) emerged as the world’s largest derivatives exchange in 2020 in terms number of contracts traded.

  • NSE was ranked 4th worldwide in cash equities by number of trades as per the statistics maintained by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) for CY2020.

  • For example, The AUM of the Indian MF Industry has grown from ₹ 8.26 trillion as on January 31, 2013 to ₹39.62 trillion as on January 31, 2023 around 5 fold increase in a span of 10 years.

  • The MF industry (a proxy for stock broking company's industry growth) is growing at rate of about 20% per annum.

  • Shift in Investor's preferences to migrate to ownership of financial assets vis-à-vis physical assets is also likely to drive the demand for financial assets such as stocks and MFs, which in turn is likely to drive the growth of the Stock Broking Services companies. Source: ibef.org
