Performance Update

Markets have had a decent correction now. The current Drawdown on Nifty is about 10% & on Smallcaps is around 15%. The panic of a potential 3rd World War , Rising Yields , Rising Crude Oil Prices, etc. could be some of the factors that may have led to creating weakness in the markets. Nifty has now dropped below the 200 Daily Moving Average for the first time since COVID fall. We had made a detailed video on Nifty’s equation with it’s 200 DMA on Feb 14th – Do check it out here in case you missed it before.

We understand that this must have been quite difficult for many of the new investors. We have repeated time and again that “This shall pass too“. As long as you are following a proper strategy there is nothing much to worry about. Especially during times like these, it is better not to check markets frequently. If you are a WeekendInvestor – all the more better. Simply spend 2 minutes per week to execute your rebalance and do whatever you want to do in the remaining 10,078 minutes. That has been the core philosophy at WeekendInvesting. When you know (a) markets will seldom go in one direction (Like Debt), (b) you are invested in the markets with a proper strategy & (c) You are in for the longer haul and not to make quick bucks – YOU WILL EVENTUALLY COME GOOD in the longer run.. Keep your monthly SIPs on..

Let’s hope we will quickly get out of this and end this year on a high note.

Despite the recent correction, we stand pretty strong when you look at the overall FY 2022 picture. Mi NNF 10, our 10 stock rotational strategy based on Nifty Next 50 Universe has shown superb strength to close the last 30 tough days in green.

Mi EverGreen (25% exposure to GOLD ETF) & NG 5050 (50% exposure to GOLD ETF) have also done relatively well in the recent times due to their exposure to GOLD since GOLD has time and again proven to be the best hedge during such times. You can find more about the importance of having GOLD as a hedge in this video.

SHORT COURSE to Help you Stay Calm in All Market Conditions

Usually, quick – sharp corrections amidst a Bull Run creates ambiguity in the minds of lots of new investors. The most important questions we often get asked is whether markets will crash from here ? Should we exit ? and few other questions like these. We have made several videos to help you clarify many such questions and help you have the RIGHT MINDSET for a rewarding journey in investing.

We have put together a few of our previous Daily Bytes which we think might be relevant for times like these. Do have a look and send us your thoughts, questions or comments if any.

The smallcase products are all LONG ONLY products that invest in various subsegments of the markets but have the momentum theme underlying in all of them. The strategies will pick strong outperforming stocks and remove weak ones once a week (except NNF10 which is monthly rebalanced)

These are all long term strategies that will create enormous wealth in each upswing and then maybe give some back in the downswing and repeating this process again and again achieving the compounding effect. With patience and grit to follow strategy over ups and downs over the last nearly five years it has been shown that much superior CAGR returns are possible than the benchmarks.
FY21 was also phenomenal and I will let the numbers speak for themselves. You may read the Consolidated FY21 report.
